Being the time of year for giving thanks here is an open letter for the people I am thankful for.
To my Mom and Dad: I am forever thankful for their support through all I have done and continue to do. You showed me what is important to go after in life. You always make it a priority to see me and make the long drive up here, taking turns on who gets to travel next.
To my sister: I am grateful to have my best friend always at my side. You always pushed me when I need it, you cared for me when I was down, you always stood up for me, you always give me a reason to smile. Being my twin we get to grow through every stage of life together.
To my husband: I am grateful for your unconditional love. I am grateful your number one priority is to always make sure I have a smile on my face. I am thankful for your service to this country. I am thankful you work so hard and continue to go after your dream to provide for our family. You make sure nothing gets in my way so I can follow my dream and support me while I do it.
To my In-Laws: I am grateful you have accepted me into your family as if I was your own. You continue to support Austin and I in all our endeavors.
To Jenn: I am grateful for our friendship that we had. The strong connection we shared makes me crave a best friend here, one as Intune and inseparable as we were.
To Hannah: I am grateful for our friendship. No matter how long we go without talking we can always pick up where we left off. I am grateful for no matter what you make sure we get to meet up when I am back in town, even if it’s to drive for hours in one day to be at our wedding.
To my Virginia friends: I am grateful we have a family here. Even though some come and go in our lives here, we continue to make great memories at our home away from home.
To my customers: Who are patient, caring, and understanding. For putting a smile on my face at work with your generosity and always having a little time to talk and get to know you.
To the fitness community: The few inspirational men and woman I follow on social media who provide motivation to me in my fitness journey but also in everyday life. Showing me that we are all human and how to get through different obstacles that we face one way or another.
There are many more I would add but this would become quite a long post.
I feel it is important to not just share thanks and our gratitude this one time of year but every day as we go throughout life and our encounters. I highly recommend the book The Gratitude Diaries: How a Year Looking on the Bright Side Can Transform Your Life by Janice Kaplan. She shares her own experiences of a year of gratitude while also sharing the thoughts of others who share in this lifestyle. This is a great book to pick up and see how being more grateful can become a habit and put a positive spin in your life.
