How many of us mindlessly scroll through our phones to check the many different social media outlets to check in with friends, because we are bored or uncomfortable, or doing it out of habit?
I have found myself on my phone just wasting away time instead of doing activities that really matter or trying to better myself. This week instead of sitting on my phone I have made great improvements in other areas of my life. Becoming more mindful of my time.
Some activates I want to make habit are yoga and meditation. Also, I have been more involved in my book which coincides to mediation. I am reading the book The Way of the Seal by Mark Divine. A book about finding your purpose in life and how to get there. To do that you have to meditate to become more Intune with yourself. The exercises in this book have helped me sit down and meditate and be okay with my thoughts.
I wanted to start practicing yoga almost daily. I was doing it every Monday night with a class but practicing that far between isn’t going to help make improvements. It has to be practiced regularly. I got on my mat for an hour on Tuesday! Was amazed how much time went by when I finished. I ended up finishing my practice by getting into my first crow pose! The next day when I got on my mat I was able to hold it a little longer.
Don’t mind my attire, haha. Yes, form could be better but it’s a work in progress.
It’s important to spend time doing things that make your heart happy. And being the best version of yourself. This week join me and put the phone down. Try something new. Engage more when you’re out with friends. Spend time with just yourself, your thoughts.
