Motivation

Motivation. Dedication. Persistency. Drive.

I’ll be honest there are some days I don’t want to make it to the gym after work. I’m tired. I have a headache. I want to stay wrapped in blankets. Etc. etc.

How do I stay motivated to reach my goals?

Visualize. I visualize where I want to be in life. I visualize the physique I am aiming for. I visualize my next PR.

Surround yourself with like-minded people. My husband and I encourage and push each other. I also follow a few athletes I look to for motivation. I may not know them personally but I look to them for their dedication and learning new exercises.

Try something new. With following other athletes, I get to see what sets, supersets, and giant sets they put together and add them into my workout. Which makes me look forward to getting to the gym next.

Music. On the way to the gym I put on my favorite tunes and turn it all the way up. It allows me to not think about the day, think about my to-do list, or thoughts running through my mind. I get in the right frame of mind for my workout. Plus, what gets you more pumped up then having your very own concert in your car??

Outlet. Ask any one close to me, my thoughts are nonstop. I over think, worry, and obsess over pretty much everything. But when I am in the gym my mind goes quiet. The problems I am facing do not exist. I simply focus on the next rep, what exercise I am going to do next. If I am having a bad day, next to needing my coffee I look forward to the gym. The gym is my relaxation, my therapy. Which is another motivating factor to restore my energy, make the day better, and push myself.

      My workout playlist consists of shinedown, bush, five finger death punch, Taylor swift, foo fighters, pink, the pretty reckless, Katy perry, & halestorm. I Kind of dip into a few genres. Hope this helps!
