May is over. That means the 65 Miles for 65 Roses challenge has come to an end.
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month. This challenge was created to bring awareness by completing 65 Miles for 65 Roses (which I did a post here explaining about CF and the challenge.)
Total miles – 94.5 miles
When this challenge was first announced by my friend I thought 65 miles seemed like a lot. Cardio isn’t always a priority in my fitness routine so can I get these miles in? The challenge was a great motivating factor to put my shoes on and get out the door.
What I appreciated about this challenge was how it brought awareness to myself about what Cystic Fibrosis is and hopefully made others aware by talking it about here and sharing the challenge with friends and family. The Facebook group that was created for this challenge was very supportive of everyone’s efforts and pushing one other to complete the challenge.
^Austin and I getting after those mile.
Through this challenge I have found that I enjoy jumping on the bike and getting my miles done by doing a HIIT circuit. An hour would pass and I wouldn’t even realize it.
Plus this challenge helped many become active and what better way to spend a summer evening then going for a walk or jog.
