Giving Yes a Chance

My life lately has involved a lot of ‘yes’ or so I like to think. Normally I let my comfort zone win and choose the safer option, no. But what is the fun in that?

Let’s take it back to September where a friend asked me to compete in my first Spartan Race. Yes! And I am so glad I did. I got to take a mini road trip to North Carolina. Tested my physical abilities and have a great time.

Just a couple weeks back a friend texted me saying she had an extra concert ticket for the next night if I wanted to go. First of all it was X Ambassadors so I couldn’t say no. But she was the only person I knew in the group so it was also a chance to meet new people.

Last week I got asked to compete in a Crossfit Competition. A little hesitant in this one because I haven’t done a Crossfit workout or Olympic lifts in quite some time. Letting them know of my reason of hesitation they informed me it would be fine and to come along. It is a 4-person team event so again meeting new people because I only know the friend that invited me. Although I have done Crossfit before I have never competed. Tuesday was our first workout together going over the lifts for a little refresher then doing a WOD from a previous competition held by Team Grit, who is also hosting the one will be competing in. Of course I will do a competition recap so look out for that post near the end of January!

And let’s not forget all the new coffee shops I have said yes to this year.

The Cure Coffeehouse bottom right ^

It’s fun to try new things and give ‘yes’ a chance. Definitely plan on bringing this new attitude into the new year!

What have you said yes to this year, last month, or last week? Share in the comments.
